This 31mm-thin panel cuts a svelte and classy silhouette with an illuminated Sony logo and the firm's new monolithic design for a seamlessly flat front in piano black finish. Both the bundled swivel and optional Bunshin speaker stands can be reclined to provide a 6-degree tilt for more comfortable screen viewing angles on low-lying TV consoles. The side A/V ports are moderately recessed to conceal cables but still functional unlike the controls on the rear right. These are near impossible to read and operate without straining the neck, especially for wall-mounted sets.

Our review unit came with lightweight TDG-BR100 3D glasses sporting a wraparound frame to block out ambient light with adjustable nose pads and straight curving arms for a better fit. This model is compatible for adults and children, as well as any bespectacled users, and comes in pink, blue or black for personalization. A replaceable coin battery stowed on the left interior supplies power, while a button on the outer-right activates the eyewear, with an LED to indicate the current operating status. There's a narrower and shorter TDG-BR50 version available from Sony as well.

The KDL-46NX710's remote is uniquely styled featuring a textured glossy body and curved matte top. Fine aesthetics aside, we feel the boxy form factor is not as ergonomic as most clickers with a rounded bottom and the backlighting is ineffective as we can barely make out the labels for each key in the dark. Nevertheless, there is a shortcut for just about every major function, plus separate Source and TV buttons to facilitate video switching. Additional multifunctional control and playback keys allow the users to control Sony Blu-ray/DVD players and home theater systems using this remote.
